Show Nephi J Hansen, 'Mayor of Sugar House' Dies: Funeral Set Saturday activities will be featured in next week's Bulletin.) Nephi J. Hansen, ' beloved "mayor of Sugar House," passed away in his sleep Thursday, .April 12, at 7 a.m., of causes incident in-cident to age. Mr Hansen has been acclaimed by those who knew him and his works as one of the comunity's greatest pioneers, pi-oneers, having been born in a log cabin with a canvas top at Driggs Ave. and 6th East, and having spent his whole life in building Sugar House. Mr. Hansen was at his home, 1187 So. 15th East, at the time of death. Born on Dec. 5, 1868, Mr. Hansen was 82 years old at his passing. Funeral services will be conducted con-ducted Saturday, April 14, 12:30 p.m. in the Bonneville Stake House, 1535 Bonneville Drive. Friends may call at 260 E. So. Temple Friday afternon, or Saturday Sat-urday morning before the services. serv-ices. WIFE AND CHILDREN He is survived by his wife, the former Laura Free, whom he married May 8, 1893, in the Salt Lake Temple. Seven children chil-dren also survive him: Clyde F., Mary' (Mrs. G. M. Southwick), Lewis F., LaRue (Mrs. Sidney J. Nebeker), Clifton F., Lincoln T., and William L. Hansen. MANY BUSINESSES Nephi J. Hansen has been prominently connected with Sugar House commercial developments devel-opments all of his adult life. He built two of the four corners at the intersection of 21st South and 11th East. The southwest corner as far south as the South East Furniture Co. buiding was built under his direction, as well as the northeast corner as far east as the building now occupied occu-pied by the South East Bowling Courts. He was founder of the Cran-ite Cran-ite Lumber Co., Sugar House Bank, Sugar House Mercantile, Builders Finance, Hansen Auto, and was identified with many other enterprises.
