Show Home Furnishings Spotlighted in S. H. Thursday Six Local Furniture Stores To Greet Public at Fall Showing Thursday Evening Sugar House the furniture center of the west will take on a gala and festive atmosphere Thursday evening, Sept. 28, when the six furniture stores in the heart of the community open doors for the "Home Furnishings Fashion Show," from 7 to 10:30 p.m. A statewide event planned by the Utah Furniture Association, Associa-tion, the open house is an annual celebration of many years standing. The latest styles and trends in floor coverings, draperies and lamps, appliances, furniture pieces will be shown in the following follow-ing Sugar House stores: Granite Furniture Co., 1050 E. 21st South; Ideal Furniture and Carpet Co. (which is celebrating its fifth anniversary an-niversary Thursday), 2120 So. 11th East; Ray Nilson Furniture Co., 1988 So. Jlth East; Rockwood Furniture Co., 1064 E. 21st South; South East Furniture So., 2144 So. 11th East; and the Sterling Furniture Co., 2051 So. 11th East. No merchandise will be sold during the show. SOUTHEASTERNERS LEAD A southeast resident, W. Jay Eldredge Jr., 2154 So. 22nd East, is chairman of the fashion show committee. Mr. Eldredge manages man-ages the Eldredge Furniture Co., 151 So. State. Two Sugar House business men are also aiding in the statewide event: S. Morgan Sorensen of the South East Furniture Co., and Raymond Ray-mond E. Nilson of the Ray Nil-son Nil-son Furniture Co. The six Sugar House Furniture Furni-ture stores are famous throughout through-out the intermountain area for the quality and variety of their merchandise. The community has been acclaimed as having a dual advantage in that the six stores have a "Main Street" location, lo-cation, and yet are right next to railroad trackage, which allows al-lows them to sell at a batter price than other stores elsewhere. else-where. RESIDENTIAL GROWTH Sugar House is right in the heart of the most rapidly growing grow-ing residential section in the intermountain west where there is a great demand for home furnishings.
