Show ONE OP THE ROADS BACK. .. Alcoholism has become one of the most distressing problems of this generation. It has beaten many men and women, but one man it didn't lick was J. Robley Tucker of Camden, N.J. Tucker made 10 million dollars in real estate during the 1920s, then drank it all up. But he made a comeback. He bought an estate near Bridgeton, N.J., called Jt 'Ivy Manor and turned it into a home for alcoholics where he now helps other victims shake off the disease. During the past two years he has dried out 150 of the 200 addicts who came there. Photo shows the rumpus room, where guests are encouraged to drink all they want but the drink Is coffee. Mural is by a former patient. |
