Show Committees Named for Southeast Area by Community Chest Heads Hoping to bring into sharp focus the inter-relationship of suburban areas and Salt Lake City with respect to private welfare wel-fare and character-building activities, ac-tivities, three separate committees commit-tees have begun work in the Sugar House, Holladay and East Mill Creek areas on behalf of the Community Chest of Salt Lake county. "We are confident," said Calvin Cal-vin A. Behle, of the Chest executive exec-utive committee, "that a greater knowledge and awareness of the work of the Chest in the outlying outly-ing metropolitan area,, and a fuller realization of the fact that those areas and Salt Lake City are so closely linked in many ways, will result in excellent moral as well as financial support sup-port in those areas for the year-round year-round operations of the numerous numer-ous health, welfare and character- building agencies federated under the 'Red Feather' in the Community Chest." Gadsby Heads S. H. Area In the Sugar House area, Geo. M. Gadsby, president, Utah Power Pow-er and Light Co., is serving as committee chairman. Long active ac-tive and well-acquainted with the- operations of the Commun- ity Chest, Mr. Gadsby will be I assisted by Dr. Robert D. Steele, president, Westminster College, Mrs. Arthus Blake Thomas, 1418 Federal Way and Mrs. D. A. Robison,, 1469 Harvard avenue. The various committees are comprised of representativss of the Chest executive committee, commit-tee, the campaign oganization which next fall will conduct the annual fund appeal, and of a Chest agency giving service in the area. Chairman Named Stewart Cosgriff will serve as chairman of the East Mill Creek committee, assisted by Mrs. Waldo L. Stewart, 532 12th of 78 Laurel street, and Willard avenue, Mrs. Clifford J. Pearsall R. Smith, of the Zion's Savings bank. ' In Holladay, Mr. Behle willj serve as chairman of the public relations committee, assisted by Mrs. G. A. Marr, 6400 Holladay boulevard, and Wendell M. Smoot, 2753 Holladay boulevard. |
