Show David Wilkie Blood , XR- DAVID W. BLOOD, who died suddenly of a heart at-tack at-tack this week, deserves a greater tribute than this. His death was so unexpected! that it is a severe shock to his family fam-ily and to all of us who knew him. Had he lived a few more years, greater newspapers and journals than The Bulletin would have accorded him great praise for his exceptional ability, and for his unusual sense of duty and devotion to the cause of medicine. Dave Blood was our friend. We've known him for almost ,i 20 years. We loved him because he had a great soul, and be-' be-' -cause he was genuinely good and honest. : Although he was only 31 years of age when he died, he ' had already attracted national attention in his specialty of cardiology. He chose to return to Salt Lake two year3 ago from New York City, even though he had many attractive offers to remain re-main in the East, because he loved Salt Lake and her people. ' Since coming here, he has done a wonderful job with people-' people-' who need his help. He lived up to the highest standards of the medical profession. Dr. Blood was endowed with a brilliant mind, a remark-1 remark-1 able love of work, and a conscientiousness which is unsurpassed unsur-passed He loved his wife and little daughter, his parents ! and sister, his friends, and all people to whom he could give aid and comfort. To his good wife, the former Julie Bouchelle, his father and mother, Dr. and Mrs. Wilkie H. Blood and his sister, Cynthia we at The Bulletin extend our sincere sympathy in these trying hours. In behalf of his one-yeaixld daughter, whom he lovingly called "Julie Mac," we express the hope that she will learn of his fine qualities in the years to come. |
