Show Famous Lion Now Kins In Sheridan The fame of Major Sheridan will finance a new city park and zoo for the city of his birth, Sheridan, Wyo. The lion, while he made his home in Salt Lake with Dr. and Mrs. J. E. Frank, became world-famous but he was unwanted. Not so, in Sheridan Sher-idan where he was welcomed last week by his widowed mother, moth-er, Congetta, Mayor Tenrill Scott and the entire population of the Wyoming city. In Sheridan one can now buy Major Sheridan balloons, popcorn, confections, and souvenirs, sou-venirs, and on July 26 there will be a mammoth parade to celebrate cele-brate the second birthday of Major. He will sport a new special-made harness for the birthday birth-day parade. According to Mrs. Frank, who motored to Wyoming last week to take her famous lion to his new home, Major Sheridan will not be penned or caged and will enjoy the same accommodations he had in his Utah home with his new caretaker, Superintendent Superintend-ent of Parks Lannan. The Franks, retain their original or-iginal status as private physician physi-cian and personal nurse to the lion and he will not be sold,, given away or otherwise disposed dis-posed of without the express permission of the Salt Lake couple. |
