RAY OLPIN, president of the University of Utah will be featured speaker at the annual an-nual Utah State Press association associa-tion meetings. Press Ass'n to Hear Dr. Olpin Keyed to acquaint themselves with coming activities, not only for the Centennial year, but in the light of expected develop- ments extending through the years to come, newspaper publishers pub-lishers Srom throughout Utah will gather in Salt Lake on Friday, Fri-day, Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 10, 11. 12, to attend the 49th annual an-nual winter convention of the Utah State Press association. Highlighting the banquet at the Hotel Newhouse Saturday evening. Dr. A. Ray Olpin, pres"-ident, pres"-ident, University of Utah, will give the publishers Ms version of "What the Future Holds for Utah." A native of Pleasant Grove, Dr. Olpin is we'll qualified quali-fied to treat this subject, having hav-ing spent 23 years, between his graduation from Brigham Young university and his inauguration as head of the University of Utah, in a wide variety of technical tech-nical and research activities in Utah. the middle west, and in the east, William M. Long, Brigham City, will speak for the members on "We Country Publishers" Frank S. Beckwith, Delta, will be master of ceremonies. With Friday evening devoted to a board of directors' meeting, registration of members and social so-cial activities, open sessions of the convention will start Saturday Satur-day at 10 a.m. Association President Pres-ident H. C. Barrows, publisher of the Midvale Sentinel, will preside. The forenoon will be devoted to discussion of association associ-ation affairs, led by Roy A. Schonian, association manager and Ned Warnock, association attorney. At a noon luncheon, with the Carpenter Paper company as host. "Utah Centennial Plans" |
