Show S. H. Lions Club Nominates 18 Sugar House Lions Monday nominated 18 members for officers of-ficers for the year 1948-48. At the meeting at Weasku Inn the names of Duane O. Wright and Reed Fairbanks were placed on the ballot for the office of president. Others nonunated: Carl Hale and Lawrence Law-rence J. Oborn, first vice president; presi-dent; Rollin Smith and Dr. Mitchell Joes, second vice president; pres-ident; Henry Richards and Lewis Rockwood, thir vice president; pres-ident; Russell Magleby and Harden Har-den Breinholt, tail-twister; Bob Howard, Milton Chipman, Lion tamer; Calvin R. Wooley, secretary; secre-tary; Joseph Fisher, George Aposhian, Raymond McFariand, Royal Chamberlain and Dow P. Brian, two-year directors. "U" Dean Speaks Dr. O. Meredith Wilson, recently re-cently named head of the new University College at the University Uni-versity of UtalC spoke to the group, on the subject of, "America's "Amer-ica's Position in the Present World Condition of Democracy Versus Communism." Lawrence Law-rence J. Oborn was in charge of the program. Musical numbers were presented by Rilla Rieger and company. Final elections will be held May 17. |
