State Park Discussed Leon Frehner, city planner and landscape architect, encour- . aged the members to continue state park at the prison site. He pointed out that Utah was one of the last states in the Union to undertake a good state park program. The 180 acres of the prison site are none too many for all that is planned, Mr. Frehner said, adding that none of the property should be sold for any other purpose. Pay For Itself Cost entailed in creating the state park with its all-purpose planning the development of the auditorium, exposition building, pioneer village and other developments, devel-opments, will more than be paid for in a matter of a few years through increased tourist travel trav-el and longer visits in the state by tourists, Mr. Frehner said. The state park at the prison site can be as important to Utah as Central Park is to New York, or Golden Gate Park is to Kan Francisco, Mr. Frehner concluded. |
