Continued on Page 4 By Frances Neff and Mary Osguthorpe FIRESIDE CHATS Fireside chats for the year will get under way on Oct. 26 at 8:30 p.m. It is going to be held at the home of Miss Le Neff, 2564 Evergreen, and all M Men and Gleaners of the East Mill Creek and Evergreen Wards are invited to attend. We . feel very privileged in having as our guest speaker for the evening eve-ning ex-Major Walter Stewart. Those who were in attendance at our last stake quarterly conference, con-ference, and heard him speak, know what a real treat is in store for us. Keep this date in mind and let's have a good time together at our fireside, Oct. 26. The basketball season is" getting get-ting underway with each team in the stake seeking the coveted covet-ed "stake championship." The first game of the season will be played on Wednesday, Nov. 5. If you are interested in witnessing witness-ing some good basketball, drop down to the L Building gym at Granite High on that date. Let's as a community go down and give these teams our wholehearted whole-hearted support. The East Mill Crcelc community commu-nity is contributing once a-tain to the missionary cause. C. residents resi-dents is the announcement of the arrival of a baby girl to Dr. and Mrs. M. Dalton Cannon. Proud grandparents sharing in - -lhe honors -are Dr. and Mrs. Munn Q. Cannon and Mrs. Mabel Hogensen. The annual stake roadshow is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 28. Each of the six wards is preparing prepar-ing a skit and one fill-in number, num-ber, and every act will be presented pre-sented in the three chapels in our stake. Tn each case the shows will begin promptly at 7:30, our regular Mutual time. Ivet's patronize our ward Mutants Mu-tants and all he in attendance at our home ward to witness the annual roadshows. Elroy Wiseman is at home now recuperating from a recent -knee operation. We'll he glad to see him back at Mutual in a short while. Miss Mary Ethel Eccles is once again taking the spotlight at the U of U. She will soon be seen in one of the leading roles in the first autumn quarter quar-ter production, "Of Thee I Sing." Congratulations, Mary Ethel. Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Apgood of 3508 South 27th East are quite! excited about the addition t their family which arrived on Saturday, Oct, 11. Their son, Billie, is boasting to all his friends about his new baby brother. The E. M. C. and Evergreen Ward Mutuals are combining 10 present a big Hallowe'en party next Thursday, Oct. 30, at the E. M. C. Ward amusement hall, starting at regular Mutual time, 7:30. Dr. R. V. Chamberlin is leaving leav-ing tomorrow for a visit in the east to see his son, Eliot, who is attending Harvard. Dr. Chamberlin Cham-berlin will be gone for a couple of weeks. f i |
