The following buglers-John buglers-John C. Grubb, Carl Brown. Leonard Munk and Ben Higbee,' formed the quartet. The membership has now reached the number of 220, which is just short five members mem-bers to make us 50 per cent of our quota for the year 1948. This is an enviable records to have attained this early in the year. Beginning with this month on the first and third Thursdays the Post will stage games and lunch at the Rock Castle, through the energy and re-: re-: sourcefulness of Comrade Ab I Ward. Ab and the other officers offi-cers are looking forward to de-I de-I veloping these card parties into interesting and enjoyable .af fairs. On last Wednesday Vera Taylor Tay-lor as chairman, with the assistance assist-ance of Mary Kroll and Thelma Jolley made 12 canvas hampers for the Veterans Hospital. These hampers will be used for laundry "and the ladies took them to their homes to do the sewing and necessary labor to complete them. The Post and Auxiliary are unfortunate to have quite a number of their members on the sick list: Charlie Johnson, secretary of the United Veterans Veter-ans Council has been ill, as well as Harold Slater. They are both members of our Post. Mrs. Ruby Millgate, who was injured some time ago, is convalescing. Also, Mrs. Era Mills has been quite ill and confined to her home for some time. We wish them all a speedy recovery with plenty of excellent health ahead. By Mack. |
