Show EastMillCreekStakeEnlarged Imperial LDS Ward was added add-ed to East MSll Creek Stake at quarterly conference held Sunday, Sun-day, April 30, in the Granite High School auditorium. Announcement An-nouncement was made by La-mont La-mont B. Gundersen, president of the East Mill Creek Stake, f the 6:30 p.m. session of the "nfenence, following an earlier meeting held for Imperial Ward members only. Headed by Bishop Paul II. Van Wagener, 2795 S. 13th East, the Imperial Ward was former- ly part of Highland Stake. It will continue to hold its meetings meet-ings in the Highland Park Ward chapel, 2535 Douglas St. As an addition to the geographical area of the ward, all church members living north of 30th South, formerly members of Cummings Ward, will now be in Imperial Ward. Another change made at the conference was to place all church members living west of Highland Drive former members mem-bers of Curlings Ward also into Hillcrest Ward of Grant Stake. Bishop Rulon Bradshaw of Hillcrest, and President Oscar Os-car J. Harline of Grant Stake both spoke at the conference and welcomed the former Cummings Cum-mings people into their ward and stake. Eaat Mill Creek Stake is probably the most heavily populated pop-ulated stake in the church now, according to Elder Spencer Kimball of the LDS Council of the Twelve, who spoke at the concluding session. It comprises com-prises nine wards: Cummings, Wilford, Grandview, Kenwood, Rosecrest, Highland View, East Mill Creek, Evergreen and Imperial. Im-perial. Its boundaries are Highland High-land Drive (west), 27th South (noith), the Wasatch mountains moun-tains (east), and 39th South (south). |
