Smeath, eount planning engineer. Residents Protest Dust, noise, traffic hazards and encroachment of other business in a residential area, should the theater be permitted there, were the principal objections objec-tions of residents appearing in protest to the project. Ottosen, attorney, sjjoke on behalf of the theater. Arguments For Their arguments were that the dust would be overcome by hard-surfacing, noise can be reduced re-duced through experience in operating the comparatively new type business, and traffic hazards can be engineered out of existence. Mr. Smeath said transcript of the hearing would be studied by the district zoning committee, commit-tee, whose members all were present at the hearing, and the county zoning committee. Recommendations Rec-ommendations then would be made to the county commission. |
