Show SUB STATION POLICE REPORT BUSY YEAR A brief report of the years ac tivities of the Sugarhouse Sub Station of the Salt Lake City Police department for the year of 1944 which dates from February Feb-ruary 1st 1944 to December 31st 1944: Sugarhouse had reported during 1944 a total of ten burglaries of which two were cleared up by arrest and one developed to be a false alarm, which makes a total of seven within the area. , During 1944 there were no holdups hold-ups and reported robbery within this sub station area and there was no safe cracking of any stores within the district. - , The report stated that of the total 193 arrests in the area, 103 juveniles were apprehended during the year for various types of vio-lations, vio-lations, in some cases were of such tender age that the officers placed the child on direct probation proba-tion from- this station rather 'than make a ward of the juvenile court these cases being children who visited different Sugarhouse stor-es stor-es arid stole merchandise without paying for it, in these cases the merchandise was returned to the merchant and child placed on probation. Extra hours were worked by the officers during the Christmas rush, and during the Fairmont Park celebration. The report shows that a large amount of business is being taking tak-ing care of by the sub station as a large number of new homes are being built in this district An office "and statibn has been established which is complete in every detail. It has a first aid kit where aid can be given direct at the station, and a police ambulance ambul-ance car is in service, and all police patrol cars have a two way radio service, and the office says that they will now be able to furnish a five minute service to the residents of the area. |
