Show BOWLING NEWS The first day's play of the Forest For-est Ladies League at the Southeast South-east resulted in the Popular and Palm teams tying for the lead with 3 points won by each. Poplar Pop-lar had 1941 for high series, and high game, 701, was rolled by Maple. Nancy Neslen's 475 was high individual series, while Marion Mar-ion Spence had 191 for high single sin-gle game. In the Southeas league Wednesday Wednes-day night, Caldwell's Celect Market Mar-ket was the only team four points with their high 2555 series and Pete Brown as high individual rolling a nice 616. Phil and Joe's team had 918 for high game, and C. Goodham of Mecca Bar had 229 for high single. M and M Mills and Frank's Hut of the Lumbermen's league each led with a 4 point win last Friday, the Mill team having 2608 for high series and Frank's Hut rolling 934 for high game. J. Woods of the M and M Mill was high individual with 596, and G. Williams had a 226 game for Union Un-ion Assay. In the opening session of the Cardnial Ladies league, a new team, Quality Press, swept high scores with a 2098 series and 726 game. Michel's Roofing was the only team taking 4 points to top the league. Wilma McGregor with a 504 series and 191 game took temporary possession of the gold cup offered by Peggy Hancock, league president, for high series bowled each week. At the end of the season the cup becomes the property of the lady bowling the year's high series. The Sugar House Major league season was launched this week with a "once-acrbss" tournament participated in by 40 men. High prize money went to Pete Brown, and several 200 averages were rolled.
