Show Chamber Calls Next Meeting For May 21st Members of the board of the Sugar House Chamber of Commerce Com-merce are working on proposed amendments to the constitution and by-laws which will permit expanding activities necessitated ; by the organization's recent growth and the many new developments de-velopments out in this section, according to Horace A Soren-sen. Soren-sen. president. Meanwhile, plans are being made for the regular May luncheon lunch-eon meeting of the membership, to be held at Weasku Inn May 21. Tuesday. At this meeting speakers will be John D. Gilcts. .an official of the Centennial com-' com-' mission, and A'aron Tracy, commissioner com-missioner of the state department depart-ment of publicity and industrial development. Roth of these men j are interested in the development develop-ment of the prison site, and the proposed establishment there of i a state park in the nature of a i pioneer v illage, complete with exhibits of pioneer life and timns. relics, museums, and displays dis-plays of the state's scenic attractions. at-tractions. The chamber committee on the proposed Southeast Associated Associa-ted Clubs building is working on ! its prospectus which will be sent out soon, explaining the purposes purpos-es of this project, and the plan j for formation of a corporation to I negotiate for its construction. this establishment, planned for the prison site, would provide a permanment home for the chamber, cham-ber, the Lions and the Rotary clubs, and such other organiza- 1 'tions as were sufficiently represented repre-sented among the corporation's stockholders. The building would contain a banquet "hall, Is mall dining room.s offices, snack bar, and custodian.s quarters, in addition addi-tion to information facilities for tourists. |
