Show ANOTHER SALT LAKE MAN WITH THE MARINES William J. Staten, a Salt Lake man who recently completed his sophomore year at the Utah State Agricultural College, has enlisted in the United States Marine Corps reserve as a candidate for a commission, it was learned here this week. The Salt Lake man, whose parents par-ents Mr. and Mrs. William Staten, of 1520 Garfield avenue, is studying study-ing at college and is amember of the American Society of Civil Engineers. En-gineers. A brother in the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, he played play-ed a year of football. When called up from an inactive inac-tive status upon graduation, Staten Stat-en will be sent to Quantico. Virginia, Vir-ginia, for an intensive 10-week indoctrination in-doctrination course in military science and tactics and will work toward his commission as a second sec-ond lieutenant of Marines it is understood that the Salt Lake man will be allowed to finish his college studies before going into training. |
