Show Urge Bond Buying A renewal of the plea to attain the 10 per cent of earnings goal in War Bond sales drive, was issued is-sued here today by Charles R. Mabey, Utah Adminstrator of the the War Savings Staff, who described des-cribed this phase of the Bond Program as "by far the most important im-portant of all." The program will fail or succeed suc-ceed upon this point, as monthly quotas are based on getting sales averaging 10 per cent of the individual in-dividual income. Utah's July quota quo-ta is $2,879,000., largest yet set, and compares with the first quota set, that for May, of $1,201,000. 'Thus it means that Utahns must more than double their purchases pur-chases of May, the first month of the Voluntary Quota System," Mr. Mabey asserted. All local committees have been instructed to push the 10 percent drive ahead of all else. Numerous means are available to help "sell" the employees on the plan, it was pointed out. In larger cities and industrial areas where there axe larger firms and payrolls, civic groups have undertaken under-taken the task of contacting firms and payroll allotment plan and urge upon the individual workers work-ers themselves the need for putting put-ting lo per cent of earnings into Bonds. In smaller communities and rural areas, the job can be done by the local Committees through direct contact with workers, farmers and professional persons, it was pointed out. To aid in the drive, all Local Committees have been furnished with Window Stickers and 10 label buttons. Every firm having 10 per cent of its payroll going into Bonds receives a Certificate, and every worker who diverts 10 per cent of his wages or salary into Bonds receives a window-sticker window-sticker and lapel button. |
