Show Local Bcsnk j Thug Fails A would-be thug took advantage advan-tage of the fog Tuesday evening eve-ning between 5 and 6 p.m. to jimmy the lock of the night deposit de-posit box of the Sugar House First Security Bank. Not successful in his attempt, the prowler did his work while a few employes were still in the bank. EMPLOYES UNAAVARE The employes did not see or hear the prowler, and did not know about the attempted robbery rob-bery until a night depositor complained that his key wouldn't open the lock. Investigation showed that someone had used a metal instrument in-strument to try to' open the deposit de-posit mechanism. In order to accomodate the night depositors the bank stayed open until all depositors brought in their funds, it was annonuced by C, , B. "Neil" White, bank manager. CALL DEPOSITORS B. W. Vincent, assistant vice president had Mrs. Dorothy Howe Burdett phone all night customers to notify them of the situation and then Mr. Vincent stayed until 9 p.m to take care of the customers. Phil Grimm, Sugar House locksmith, worked on the box Wednesday morning in order to put it back in use. |
