Show City Commissioner Visits S- II. Club JOSEPH SLOAN AND J. EDW. SWIFT ATTEND Commisioner Fred (Feet) Ted-esco Ted-esco accompanied by Jos. Sloan, park supervisor and J. Edw. Swift, Fairmont Park caretaker, visited members of Sugar House Chamber of Commerce Wednesday Wednes-day neon at the second meeting of March held at Knight's Tea Room. ' Commissioner Tedescoo, of the City Parks department, interested interest-ed the members in his review of the wonderful work done by the YMCA-Rotary Boys' Club', organized organ-ized several years ago by Mr. Tedesco. Juvenile Delinquency has dropped considerably by the work offered the boys in the club and the opportunities to start the boy off on a useful life. Possibilities of such a club at Fairmont Park were briefly outlined out-lined by Commissioner Tedesco, and the Fairmont Park committee commit-tee will look further into the project. Plans for improvements a t Fairmont Park at the p-esent time include a complete "cleanup" "clean-up" and "paint-up" of buildings in the park, Mr. Tedesco said and an eye will be turned toward improving the entrances to the park, one of the projects requested request-ed by the Sugar House Chamber of Commerce. As time was brief, Mr. Sloan and Mr. Swift did not have time to express their plans further than to say that they were 100 per cent with the Southeast people peo-ple in. wishing to make Fairmont' Park one of the best in the West. The commissioners visited the Sugar House organization upon the invitation of Glenn E. Tripp, Fairmont Park Chairman, and H. Scott Linnell, committeeman. F. L. (Ted) Taggart, genial worker in the hardware department depart-ment of the Sugar House Lumber Lum-ber and Hardware Company, won $7 worth of Defense Stamps Wednesday in the lottery conducted con-ducted by the Chamber. |
