Show A PROCLAMATION BY. THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF UTAH. WHEREAS, one hundred and sixty-eight years ago the United States Marine Corps was created by Act of the Continental Congress Con-gress on November 10th; and, WHEREAS, the history of the Marines is a matter of great pride not only to those who have worn, the insignia of the Corps and have established a record of gallantry and devotion to duty, but to ail of the American people. Traditionally, Tradi-tionally, the men of the Marines j have carried on. With their motto j "Semper Fidelis" as their guide, the officers and men of the Marine Mar-ine Corps have contributed great-j great-j ly to the preservation of the se-I se-I curity which we now enjoy and which we trust will endure, j NOW THEREFOR?:. I, Herbert Her-bert B. Maw, Governor of the the State of Utah, do hereby pro claim Wednesday, November 10th, as "MARINE CORPS DAY" in honor of this anniversary and in acknowledgment of this period of long and faithful service. I ask that the flag be flown from homes, places of business and public buildings and request the people of the State to join in observing ob-serving this eventful date in commemoration com-memoration of those who died in the service and to signify their admiration for this efficient branch of the National Defense.
