Show Public Health A total of 436 cases of of communicable com-municable diseases was reported to the Division of Epidemiology, Utah State Board of Health, for the week ending May 9. This is a decrease of 116 cases as compared com-pared with those reported for the previous week and a decrease of 573 cases as compared with those reported for the corresponding week one year ago. One death from Rocky Mountain Moun-tain Spotted Fever was reported from Helper, Carbon County, and an addional case of Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever was reported re-ported from Henefer, Summit County. These are the first two cases of this disease to be reported report-ed for the year 1941. One case of tularemia was reported re-ported from Jensen, Uintah Coun-! ty. The patient is a stockgrower, 48 years of age, and the attending; physician reports that a "wild j rabbit' " was the source of the j infection. One death from epidemic meningitis men-ingitis was reported from Richfield, Rich-field, The patient was a boy, 2 years of age. No other cases have been reported from this area. Uintah County reported a case of typhoid fever. An investigatior. of this case will be made to determine de-termine the source of infection. One case of adulant fever was reported from North Ogden. Weber We-ber County. In actual number of cases, German Ger-man measles still heads the list with a total of 145 cases. Hower-er, Hower-er, this is -IS cases fewer than were reported last week. Other communicable diseases reported re-ported are as follows: chickenpox 92. influenza 6, measles 61, mump-j 24, pneumonia 10, scarlet feveill. tuberculosis 2, whooping cough 50, septic sore throat 2, gonorr-' hea 11. syphilis 12, and gonorr- heal ophthalmia 1. |
