Show Public Health A toal of 419 cases of communicable commun-icable diseases was reported to the Utah State Board of Health for the week ending June 13. This is an increase of 87 crises over those reported a week ago. but is 35 cases fewer than were reported for the corresponding" week in 1940. One case of tularemia was reported re-ported from Milford. Beaver County, Coun-ty, The patient is ten years of age and the probable source of infection is given as "handling jack rabbits." Since January, this year, a total of 14 cases have been reported. Twenty-four cases of trachoma were reported from the following counties: Iron. Uintah, and Wosh-i Wosh-i ington. Early cases of trachoma are now being treated very successfully suc-cessfully with sulfanilamide Thest cases were discovered In the examination ex-amination of a group of Indians' by a specialist of the U. S. Public Pub-lic Health Service. Three cases of diptheria were reported from Bingham, Salt Lake County. Two of these cases were children and the third was and adult. Other diseases reported are as follows: chickenpox 120, influenza 14, measles 23. German measles 127. mumps 27, pneumonia 11, scarlet fever 3, whooping cough 97. gonorrhea 8. and syphilis 21. Logan and Richfield and the following counties reported "no disease:" Duchesne. Grand. Kane, Morgan. Rich, Ran Juan, and Wasatch. |
