Show Utah State Health Report REPORT SHOWS INCREASE OVER LAST WEEK A total of 676 cases of comun-icable comun-icable disease was reported to the Utah State Department of Health for the week ending January 9, 1942, as compared with 538 cases for the previous week and 1890 cases for the corresponding week one year ago, 1564 of which were cases of influenza. Chickenpox led he list of cum-unicable cum-unicable diseases with 254 cases mumps were second with 234 cases, cas-es, and measles was third with 48 cases. Eleven cases of pneumonia were reported as compared with 22 cases one year ago. Twenty-one cases of scarlet fever were reported as compared with 26 for the previous week and 7 for the corresponding week one year ago. One case of epidemic meningitis meningi-tis was reported from Salt Lake City: the patient is five years of age. Other communicable diseases reported are as follows: influenza 9, German measles 33, tuberculosis tubercul-osis 1, whooping cough 44, gonorrhea gon-orrhea 5, syphilis 11, septic sore throat 1, gonorrheal ophthalmia 1, and rheumatic fever 2. Beaver, Daggett, Kane, Morgan Piute, and San Juan reported no disease for the week. Im |
