Show MURRAY JAYCEES The Murray City Jaycees want to remind all Murray residents to get their entries in for the Annual Jaycee Home Lighting Contest. Entries must be postmarked before midnight, December 22nd, with judging beginning December 23rd thru December 27th. To be eligible, all that is required is that entries put their names, addresses and telephone numbers on a postal card and mail to HOME LIGHTING CONTEST, 166 Winslow Avenue, Murray, Utah. Winners will be announced the week of December 28th. The Jaycees will award plaques for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place which will be retained by the winning families for display in their homes. The contest is open to Murray residents only and Chairman John Wagstaff urged all interested Murrayites to get their entries in before the postmark deadline of December 22nd. Wagstaff also reminded residents that they had time to enter to be judged so long as the cards are received by December 27th. EAST MILL CREEK LIONS The East Mill Creek Lions Club is just finishing up its most successful year with its Community Birthday Calendar fund-raising project. Harvey Penney, Chairman of the drive reports that calendar sales are running far beyond any year in the past. For eight years the Birthday Calendar project has been the Club's major annual money-m money-m iking project. Calendars are sold to families residing in the East Mill Creek area for $2.00, which includes listing the names of all members of the family on their birthdays and the wedding anniversary of Mom and Dad. All money taken in from calendar sales is being used to complete the Club's Barbecue Bar-becue Center Picnic Schelter in East Mill Creek Park. Ads are sold on the calendar to business firms in East Mill Creek for enough to pay for printing the , calendars. Advertisers are offering offer-ing Gifts and Discounts to everyone whose name is listed in the calendar, which makes for a real nice deal for everyone participating. KIWANIS CLUB OF SUGAR HOUSE On Tuesday, December 15, the Kiwanis Club of Sugar House met at Harman's Cafe for luncheon. 'Facts About Your Heart" was the topic of a talk to the members presented by the Uth Heart Assn. Kiwanians were urged to have this painless examination as a preventive prevent-ive measure.
