Show First Security Foundation Announces Scholarship Awards Future Farmers of America and members of 4-H clubs in the area, will once again be eligible for both individual and unit awards from the First Security Foundation, it was announced this week by C. G. White and B. W. Vincent, assistant vice presidents in charge of the Sugar House First Security Bank. The Foundation ' has appropriated ap-propriated $2,400 for these1 awards. Messrs. White and Vincent said that the First Security Foundation has also contributed 1959 scholarships and grants totaling $10,100.00 on the follow, ing schools : University of Idaho, Idaho, State College, Boise Junior College, Ricks College, Northwest Nazarene College, College of Idaho, Lewis and Clark Normal College (Lewis-ton), (Lewis-ton), Uuiversity of Utah, Brigham Young University, Utah State University, Weber College, and College of Southern South-ern Utah (Cedar City). The First Security executives explained that this is the. sixth year the Foundation has provided pro-vided grants and scholarships. The Foundation was established by the First Security Bank of Utah, N.A., and the First Security Bank of Idaho, N.A., to promote and support educational, educa-tional, scientific, religious and charitable enterprises. George S. Eccles is president of the foundation. Trustees include: J. L. Driscoll, Marriner S. Eccles, George S. Eccles, Mar-riner Mar-riner A. Browning and Willard L. Eccles. "These grants and scholar- ships are provided with an aim toward building character and leadership among the young people in this fast growing. intermountain region," Messrs. White and Vincent said. |
