Chairman Miss Elizabeth Mitchell and her co-chairman Mrs. W. E. Anderson of the Legislation Committee are conducting the discussion. dis-cussion. This Tieeting will be held Wednesday, March 23, at 7 :30 p.m. at the home of Elizabeth Mitchell, 762 First Avenue. "We urge all members to attend this meeting in view of the fact that next year the Utah State Legislature will be in session. All women who work should be very interested in this discussion," says Mrs. Arietta . Elton, publicity chairman. - "The Utah Federation of Business and Professional Women's Club is having the annual convention at Cedar City this year on June 3, 4, 5. 1960. We hear thos e Cedar City girls have planned some fabulous events for us. Everyone plan to attend. More information will be received on the details in the near future." The Salt Lake Council of Women is sponsoring a clothing drive the month of March. They can use all clean, wearable clothing for babies, boys and girls of all ages, even teen-age sizes to be used at the Dentention Home. Sugar House Business and Professional Women's Club is a member of the Council and Mrs. Ethel Robinson will accept articles of clothing at the Lady Gay Shoppe, 2032 So. 11th East. "Mrs. T. P. Jorgensen, also a . member of the BPW of Sugar House, is planning an exciting tour of Europe soon and expects to spend considerable time in the Holy Land. We will be most interested in her report when she returns. Our deepest sympathy is extended ex-tended to Mrs. W. E. Anderson at the death of her father last week. Mrs. A. H. TophamoftheSugar House BPW, had a most unusual experience on her last buying trip to New York. She had the pleasure of being the guest of the Press Attache to the Delegate to the United Nations from Pakistan for luncheon and a tour of the United Nations Building. She was especially interested in view of our recent program featuring foreign students, one of which represented Pakistan. The two men were walking down the courthouse steps after one had just been divorced. "Thank heavens, that phase of my life is over," said the newly unwed. "I never liked that woman!" "Well, then, how did she manage to rope you into marriage?" "I guess," was thereply, "she wanted me more than I didn't want her." |
