Show Art Workshop The third annual Art Education Workshop, being sponsored by Westminster College and the Utah Art Educators' association, will be held on the Westminster campus cam-pus June 10-21 under the direction direc-tion of Delbert VV. Smedley, Director Di-rector of Art, Granite School District Dis-trict and editor of the Art Bulletin Bul-letin of the Utah association, it was announced by the College. The purpose of the workshop is to assist the classroom instructors instruc-tors in more creative art activity activi-ty in both the arts and crafts programs. It is organized to develop de-velop art education on all levels from kindergarten through high school, and will give emphasis to using the newer methods techniques tech-niques and materials. Presentation of the workshop will be through lectures, panels, group discussion and question answer panels, along with comprehensive com-prehensive workshops with many types of materials. Members of the Central committee com-mittee are Dr. Frank E. Duddy, Jr., president of Westminster; Elaine S. Michelsen, professor of art at the College; Glenn J. Bee-ley, Bee-ley, director of Pioneer Craft House; Bernice B. Littlefield, instructor in-structor of art, Salt Lake City Public Schools; Bessie Stevens, elementary instructor, Davis District, Dis-trict, and H. Edward Nelsen, instructor in-structor of Art, Granite School District. Two sessions will be held each day, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon and from 1 to 3 p.m. Evening entertainment entertain-ment is being planned. The Art Education Workshop ' carries three credit hours of upper up-per division or refresher credit in either the Art or Education departments of Westminster College. Col-lege. Rooms and meals during the workshop will be provided at minimum cost on the campus. The tuition cost for the workshop work-shop is $30.00. |
