Show this is the "Solar Swing," with a theme of Astronomy. Decorations Decora-tions will be along the line of stars, planets, comets, meteors, and such. This will be the last night dance of the year for seventh and eighth graders, but the ninth graders have a graduation dance yet to come. The Olympus Jr Bulldogs have a three-game winning streak going, having recorded wins over Kearns, Evergreen, and Granite Jr.'s. Coach Karl Tucker states that this year's team has probably improved more over the course of the season than any other group he has coached, and might yet prove to be a "dark horse" in the league championship race. The Bulldogs will play a game with Granite Jr, at Olympus on March 7, and will meet the league-leading Bruins of Central Jr. High at Central on March 1, in the last game of the season. "Teen-Talkers" OLYMPUS JR. HIGH by Nick Sturgeon Olympus Jr.'s Talent Assembly ended last Thursday Feb 28, , when the final Group Assembly was held. The final Individual Assembly was held one week before, be-fore, on Feb. 21. In each classification, classifi-cation, an all-school winner was chosen along with a winner from each grade, seventh, eighthf and ninth. In the individual classification, the girls took ove Ann Ray of the ninth grade tickled the ivories (or, if you prefer, pecked the plastic) to take the All-school award. . The ninth grade prize was won by songstress Gerry Faerber; Ruthie Romney captured top honors hon-ors in the eighth grade with a comedy sketch; and Jane Brinton played the piano to win the seventh grade award. A pantomine by ninth graders Judy Tomlin, Sue McCraley, Donna Don-na Jensen, and Michael Hilton won the All-school medal in group competition. A French horn quartet, with Ann Johnson, Tom rarker. Dirk Ostermiller, and Lee R. Lambert won in the ninth grade; the eighth grade winner was a dance band, which listed as its members Bill Voss, Danny Richards, Bill Hoge, Doug Barnes, Win Jones, and Ron Wayman; and last, but far from least, a seventh grade singing group consisting of Kenneth Macey, Tnil Clinger, Cary Egbert, Bobby Steuar, Ricky Cole, Stan Steadman, Craig Warner, and Arial Clawson won top honors in that grade. The winners in the Master of Ceremonies contest were WTayno Coon, of the ninth grade, and Doug . Barnes, of the .eighth. Doug was the only double winner in the assembly, as he was also a member mem-ber of the winning eighth grade dance band. Students at Olympus Jr. are starry-eyed from thinking about the next night dance, which will be held Friday evening, March 8. And well that they should be, for |
