Asplund, 625 Browning Ave. He is em-ployed at Pacific Northwest Pipeline Company.. will consist of any and all crafts, such, as basketry, enameling, jewelry, lamp shades, leather, masks, mosaics, metal, plastics, pottery, sculp-ture, silkscreen, stone polishing, wood carving;, Christmas deco-rations, etc. The association will culminate its activities in the spring with an exhibit in April held at the Pioneer Craft House out-do- or studio. "I Art Association Holds Meeting At a meeting of the Granite Art Teachers Educational as-sociation held last Thursday, at Pioneer Craft House, 3271 So. 5th East, the following officers were elected for the coming year: Mr. Richard P. Barnes, Granite Jr. High School, Psesi-den- t; David H. Holdaway, Cyprus High High School, Vice President; and Verna N. Roberts, Madison School, Sec. The advisory committee elected were Delberfc W. Smedley, Granite Art Supervisor, chair-man; Glenn J. (Mrs. A. L.) Beeley, director of Craft House and Art Coordinator; Dr. O. C. England; Dr. Kenneth Far-re- r; and Mra. Claude Lemmon. The Board of Directors will consist of James Howells, Craft House; Walter Weight, Ever-green Jr. High School; Theressa Mitton, Redwood School; and Helen Smith, Magna. Mrs. Beverly Brinton, Craft House, was elected chairman of the, entertainment committee with Helen H. Johnson, Blaine School and Albert S. Childs, West Kearns on her committee. The association will meet each Thursday at the Pioneer Craft House. The first Thurs-day of each month will be devoted to a workshop which r I ' .! i -- g.. ' x Dee Abbott S. E. Woman Is Candidate Its been a long time since Salt Lake County has had a woman candidate for County Clerk. Delilah Richards was born in West Jordan, Utah. She now resides in Holladay with her husband and son Richard. Dee Abbott has in the past been a part of Sugar House. Before her marriage she worked at South East Furniture Co. as head bookkeeper and asst. credit manager. She has excellent quali-fications of more than 8 years as office mgr.. She was Republican County vice chairman and has worked closely with election laws and election precedures.. During the 1955 session of the legi-slature, she was supervisory clerk of the Senate, and in 1957 was elected to the House of (Continued on page 6) Hol.. Church Starts Basketball Season The first basketball practice for boys of the Holladay Community Church under the age of sixteen was held in the Olympus Junior High School girl's gym last night. . Coaches F. Ray Dubois, Jr. and- - Rev. John Thornton hope, that , there will be a great deal of interest shown, as games in the Inter-Churc- h League are scheduled to begin in early December. (Continued from page 1) Westminster Engineers buffet and conference sessions will be provided by the college in the Payne Gymnasium and Student Loungfe. The public is invited to view the displays in the Gymnasium which will include a variety of probuct-io- n tools valued at many thousand dollars, produced, im-ported and used in the Inter- - mountain Region. Tool Engi-neering students at the college will assist Chapter 85 in ac-comodating chapter members and the visiting public while on the campus. Among the exhibits will be a large booth displaying activities of the college. These students get their academic training at the col-lege with laboratory work at regular pay being done at the Eimco Corp., under a cooper-- . ative agreement between West-minster and Eimco. The exhibit will be opjen from 2 to 10 p.m. on Nov. 6, and from 2 to 7 p.m. and 9 to 11 p.m. on Nov. 7. On the 7th, a buffet meal will be served from 7 to 8 p.m. in the Student Lounge, with a special pro-gram to be given from 8 to 9 p.m. Speakers will be Dean Armin J. Hill of the college of Physical and Engineering Science at Brigham Young University, and Gilbert Seely, National Educational Director, of A.S.T.E., Detroit. A feature of the day also will be the final home football game of the season at 1:30 p.m. between the Parsons and Carroll Col-lege of Helena Montana. if! Not Too Late For Holloween Party It is not tO(o late to plan a UNICEF Halloween Party, for there are many eager children costumed for the evening for Tricks and Treat-ing that would enjoy the new slant. If plans have not already been ... made, gather in the neighborhood youngsters, and explain that the "Tricks and Treats" are gathered in the form of small change.
