Formflt 'gives simple instructions below Jbased on recent tests. . Anybody here who enjoys washing her underpinnings by hand? We didn't think so.1 After years of scrubbing jtur knuckles raw and still not getting our bras and 'girdles as snowy white as we'd like, we are cheered to learn that one of the leading jfoundationwear manufactur-ers, Formfit, now recom-mends machine-washin- g of its garments in preference to hand washing. , This good news comes as the result of exhaustive test-- 1 ing conducted independently: by The Maytag Company (well known home laundry specialists, and the "Good Housekeeping" Institute, ai well as by Formfit itself. 1 For best results, Formfit 'recommends that you: 1. Use a warm or prefer-- ; "ably cold water setting on your automatic washer. Cold twater preserves the firmness and whiteness of fragile elas-tics for the longest possible time and gets the garments whistle-clea- n. 2. Use a light duty liquid detergent, plus water soften-er if your water is hard. . 3. Dry your bras and gird- les flat on a towel or tost them over a line. Use an au-tomatic dryer only if it's one of the newer models with an "air fluff", "room tempera-ture" or "lukewarm" setting.
