Show High School Seniors May Enroll For Home Study - BYU Gifted high school seniors may obtain college credit through the BYU Home Study department, it was announced by Harold Glen Clark, dean of Adult Education and Extension Exten-sion Services. This, new program which has been approved by the State Superintendent of Schools, is a supplement to functioning high school programs intended especially to help prepare gifted students for study in technological techno-logical and specialized fields. The program includes such courses as algebra, trigonometry, trigono-metry, physics, and chemistry as well as fine arts, social social scion.ee), and religion courses. According to Armin J. Hill, dean of the College of Physical and Engineering Sciences, many' college freshmen are snort in required courses and could save much time by completion com-pletion of home study courses to eliminate the need for introductory in-troductory classes in college. Full college credit will be giiven at BYU or transferred to other colleges at the option of that institution. Enrollment requirements include in-clude a 3.5 grade point average and the written approval of the student's local school : officials. |
