Show Speaker Warns Westminster Students N. Blaine Winters, director of teacher personnel for the Utah State Department of college's 1958 academic convocation, con-vocation, students cannot lose sight of the fact that science must be only a part of life. The Westminster ' College students were given the warning warn-ing that concentration on science may result in loss of Christ-like goals. The students began the 1958-59 term classes on Monday. The 425 students and the college faculty also were urged to find ways of getting along socially. "In this period of stress and strain when emphasis is on on gaining superiority in the manufacture of destructive weapons, we must remember what Christ taught," Mr. Winters Win-ters said. "We will need the teachings od Christ as a guide when we obtain the peace we strive for now." Wisdom and understanding are important in an edrca-tional edrca-tional process and make the information obtained by study a living mechanism, Mr. Winters Win-ters told the students. |
