Show O- . " W oman's World .. Society Parties Food - by lean Bradsliaw NEW YEAR'S EVE New Year's Eve-ing kept many sub-urban Salt Lakers up late on January 31st to hail the New Year. Parties abounded, just to mention a few: A group of friends including Mr. and Mrs. Richard P. Backman, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pyke, and Mr. and Mrs. Thorton D. Morris gathered at Sir Lester? for a dinner-dancing evening. Mr. and Mrs. Sanford P. Morris wished Mr. and Mrs. D. Brent Scott a happy New Year while Mr. and Mrs. George Strike and Mr. and Mrs. Pres Dunn talked over New Year's Resolutions. Meanwhile another group chose the Aviation Club as the perfect setting for a New Year's celebration. celebra-tion. Among this group were Mr. and Mrs. Graydon Schulder, Mr. and Mrs. T. Upton Ramsey, Mr. and Mrs. Edward I. Vetter and Mr. and Mrs. Richard G. Price. They were joined by Mr. and Mrs. Richard E. Whitney and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest D. Mariana. Steaks, barbecued just as the clock struck twelve, were the celebration cele-bration fare at the home of Maurice D. Jones, 1902 Laruelhurst Drive and Mr. and Mrs. Monte L. Hunsaker and Mr. and Mrs. Lyke K. Campbell were lending a hand. Mr. and Mrs. Reed N. Glauser and Mr. and Mrs. Bud Barnes also joined in the fun. BALLET Although the season has been merry and busy, Sugar House citizens still found time to give the Nutcracker ballet their enthusiastic enthus-iastic support and approval. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schwendiman and Mr. and Mrs. Alex Anderson were glimpsed among the ballet enthusiasts enthus-iasts as were Mr. and Mrs. Budd H. Ensign and Dr. and Mrs. Albert Al-bert Peterson. Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Espenchied and Dr. and Mrs. Leonard Leon-ard W. Jarcho found their seats were near one another at a recent evening performance. Mr. and Mrs. B. Spencer Young, Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Rod P. Dixon and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Allen commended the evening performance. BRUNCH A Sunday morning brunch brought friends of Miss Claudia Van Voorhis, 1833 Yale avenue together to-gether last week end. She invited guests to arrive between the hours of 10:30 a.m. and noon. Among the friends who called were Mr. and Mrs. James Rains and Mr. and Mrs. Douglas A. Jackson. They visited with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lawson and Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Dumke, Jr. Also visiting around the Christmas tree were Mr. and Mrs. Charles T. Bintz and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stake and Dr. ' and Mrs. Robert M. Sutton. |
