Hunters to get Deer Hunt Questionnaire First half of 30,000 deer kill questionnaire cards will be mailed this week to hunters over the state the Utah Dept. of Fish and Game said today. Another 15,000 cards will bei mailed at a later date following the close of regular license hunt-ing on several areas where ex-tended seasons are set. Hunters receiving a kill card are urged to fill it in accurately and return it as soon as possible. The cards are self - addressed and no postage is required. Names of the 30,000 hunters who will receive the kill cards are drawn at random from the fish and game license files. Data compiled annually from the returned information listed on the cards forms an important key in setting future hunting seasons as well as in figuring the success of the seasons held this year. The department reminded again that by filling in the card accur-ately and returning it promptly sportsmen receiving them are con-tributing much toward better ma-nagement of the state's deer jherds. Christmas Seal contributions to raise funds to fight tuberculosis (are collected by many philate-lists. No issue has ever been re-printed, and each year the plates are destroyed. Wm. Checking Stations Report Deer Kill Final figures from the state's Santa Clara checking station show 13,205 hunters checking out with 16,159 deer during the hunts thus far this year. omparable figures for the 1956 season a year ago list 11,922 hunt--; ers checking out 16,081 deer thru this station. Department of Fish and Game spokesmen said the slight de-crease noted in hunter success must be attributed mainly to the extremely adverse weather condi-tions attending the seasons in the south half of the state where a majority of the non - residents On The Sick List' Little four-year-o- ld Brent Sals-bur- y, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Salsbury, 1850 Brookhill Drive, is-n't very happy with the doctors these days. He can't quite under-stand that the complications of a broken hip must keep him in trac-tion for all of three weeks, with his legs held upright, nor can he look forward with any pleasure to the seven weeks he will have to stay in a body cast, after he gets out of traction. Must be pretty hard on a little fellow like that. Be hard enough on an adult. Little Dawn Blankenship, tiny 18 month old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Blankenship of 1831 Vil-lage Road, is very ill in the LDS Hospital with complications from a sore throat. Because of the dif-ficulty cf swallowing, her body has become nearly and she is under constant care, of her doctor. . Mrs. C. K.
