Show New Teen Club Started by Local Group Under the direction of its chairman, chair-man, Mayo Hogue the Youth Guidance Gui-dance Committee of the Fraternal Order of Eagles is planning the organization of a new young people's peo-ple's group, to be known as the Fraternal Order of Eagles Teen Club. Membership in the club will be open to all teenagers, boys or girls, ranging in age from 13 to 19 years inclusive. Parents of the youngsters need not necessarily be members of the parent organization, organiza-tion, but they must give their consent con-sent before the boys or girls can become members. Initiation fees will be $3 and dues will be fifty cents per month. As much as is possible, the direction dir-ection and management of the club will be left in the hands of the teen-agers themselves, with the selection of their officers and the handling of their money being under their control. Their activities activi-ties will be selected by the members mem-bers and will be subject only to such control by the Youth Guidance Guid-ance Committee as is absolutely essential. Projected plans for the group at this embrio stage include handi-; craft work, sports (including baseball, base-ball, archery and various other seasonal sports) and entertainment. entertain-ment. For the dances, the Aerie will furnish the hall and the music, mu-sic, but all other expenses will be furnished by the club funds, with the approval of their own membership. mem-bership. Membership in this youth group could well lead to membership in the adult organization for those finding interest in the group. Full information concerning the organization can be had by those who are interested if they will call Mayo Hogue, chairman of the Youth Guidance Committee at EM 3-1G66. |
