Show Sugar House VFW Announces Contest Winners Stu lents from St Mary's of the Wasatch and Judge Memor-:rj Memor-:rj were named winners in the ccat essay contest sponsored j' U.e Sugar House VFW Post .- First place winner from St Llary's of the Wasatch was Sharon Jones, 17, daughter of Kathcrine Jones, 687 2nd Ave., second place winner was Frances Harrera, 16, daughter fo Mr. and Mrs. Tony Harrera of Battle Mountain, Nevada. Third place winner was Bonnie Brown, 17, from Reno, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Brown. From Judge Memorial, first place winner was Patricia Fried-ley, Fried-ley, daughter of Mrs F R FrienL ly, 2273 Berkeley St; second place winner was Helen Spauld-ing, Spauld-ing, daughter of Mr and Mrs. Albert Spaulding,- 266 E. Burton Ave. Third place winner was Ilatlileen Durning, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Durning. The subject of the Essay was "America's Future . Is Up to Youth." The essays of the winners win-ners will be submitted to the national na-tional contest. The local first place was awarded a $25 bond, with cash prizes of $10 and fivt dollars for the second and third place winners. |
