J0 Life With Lynne This spring weather reminds me of Springville, and Spring-vill- e reminds me of the basket-ball tournament, and the bas-ketball tourney reminds me that Olympus High came in fourth and that Springville won the big doings. Some of those games had everyone, at one time or an-other, acting like they were crazy (maybe they were). Olympus' game with Granite was the most exciting I thought. Those Granite "Farm-ers" and "Farmerettes" surely had a lot of school spirit, but I'm proud of the "Titans," be-cause they won in a real close game. Sandy Dolowitz took his sister, Judy, Viv Paulsen, Sarah Soderberg and me to the game we played with Box El-der. He had to go to a meet-ing at someone's house after, and I was determined that I was going to get my shorthand done before I got home. The lights in their car wouldn't go on, so I sat right down on the front lawn of the house where Sandy was and started doing my Shorthand by the light of a garage floodlight. Pretty soon a man came out and boy, did I run! He probably thought I was drunk, but I wasn't. After every exciting game we went to the A&W Rootbeer (I said rootbeer) on 21st South and quenched our parched vo-cal cords. We not' only had delicious food at Sue Christensen's at our "Flamef ront" Sunday night, but we had some good food for thought dished up by Kenny Olsen from the U. of U. You would have thought we were kids from the country, be-cause we were so , interested in their beautiful home. Phone Us for . . . Grant Stake Relief Society h"'., had Mrs. Crow, seamstress i'ro;;i ZCMI come to the Grant 9th Ward Chapel to give in-structions to the ladies in sew-ing At the last meeting, there were 109 ladies in attendance. Mrs. Crow has been giving in-structions in making hems, fac-ings, inserting zippers and sleeves. The next talk will be given at the Chapel March 27th, Ht 1:00 p.m. The Granite High Seminary furnished the program at the Miller Ward on Sunday. I went with Valerie Haymore and Susan Tenant because they had a part on the program. Val accompanied Sue as she played the violin. The Granite Seminary furnished the pro-gram for two meetings and I sat through them both, but I loved every --minute of it. After that Sue's brother, Brent, took us to a Fireside that was put on by part of the Wilford Stake. Some of the Olympus big-wigs had a yell that went like this: "Rah, Rah, Re, kick 'em in the knee. Rah, Rah, Ras, kick 'em in the other knee." My little brother asked my j dad why his nose wasn't 12 : inches long. When Dad gave j up my little brother said if it was 12 inches long it would be a foot. Guess I'll go fly my kite, j; (ha, ha). - j Bye now, jj Lynne. |
