With all the wonderful features of-fered, sewing and dressmaking should make a gay adventure. Maccabees Hold Birthday Luncheon Plan Bazaar It's been a busy month for the Ladies of the Maccabees. A birthday luncheon was held at Russell's Cafe on March 13th. They played hostess to the Junior Maccabees at the March Social, with the door prize going to Junior Maccabee Carolee Draper. Other prizes were won by Junior Susan Banks, and Miss Merrily Sandberg. Mrs. Emily Sedgewick was in charge as-sisted by Alberta Ivison. Legion Auxiliary To Sponsor Luncheon The officers of District No. 3 of the American Legion Auxil-iary will sponsor a luncheon to be held Saturday, March 29th, at 1:00 p:m. at 890 West 21st South. The procees of the luncheon . will be used to support the Ani-mated Fairy Land at the Utah State Training School at Amer-ican Fork. This is the project for the year of the Department President, Mrs. L. M.- - Howard. In charge of arrangements are Mrs. T. G. Pallister, general chairman; Mrs. Richard A. Inch, reservation chairman; Mrs. Lars A. Ward and Mrs. William A. Speirs, door prizes chairman; Mrs B. L. Sampson, decorations; Mrs. Ted Lovett, tickets; and Mrs. Dean Hall, secretary. Club Gives Award Community Club Award is uppermost in the thoughts of the Maccabee group. The first week of C.C.A., sponsored by " KDYL, the Maccabee group captured fifth place with a prize of fifteen dollars. Work party for the Bazaar will be held at the Ivison home, 1023 Concord St., Thursday March 27th. During the party, an Ironrite demonstration will be given in connection with the CCA. project. Return From Trip Mrs. Keitli Sharp and her two children have just returned from a two week stay in Santa Anna, California, where they have been visiting her mother, Mrs. James Vanderwolf. While there, they spent their time visiting all the coastal towns, Corona Dl Mar, Laguna Beach, the va'cationland at Balboa Beach and then a spe-cial visit to Disneyland for the benefit of the two young boys. Present Joint Gift At a recent meeting of the Glendale Park Lions Club, A-lberta Ivison, a past Command-er of the Maccabees and Teresa Fehlman, Commander, present-ed the Lions Club a 55 cup electric percolator that they, had working pointly to obtain. |
