II at l p.m. at the Oakridge Country Club. It was 'attended by members of Epsilon, Epsi-lon, Kappa, Pi and Rho chapters chap-ters of the Delta Kappa Gam- . ma Society all located in Davis County. Also in attendance were officers of Alpha Theta State of the Delta Kappa Gamma Gam-ma Society International. A PROGRAM chairmaned by Dorothy Bingham of Pi chapter was enjoyed. Christine Christ-ine Deppe, a member and her husband, Larry, entertained with piano and vocal music. Helen Sheffield, also a member, mem-ber, gave a reading of various thoughts. The program was centered around the theme "Decorating the Christmas Tree." Christine Christ-ine sang "Winter Wonderland" Wonder-land" and "A Christmas Story." The numbers were likened to the ornaments on the tree, while Larry's prelude, pre-lude, postlude and piano solo "Romance" by Sibelius were the garlands and Helen's thoughts were the lights. THE HIGHLIGHT of the luncheon was the presentation of the "Woman of the Year" award to Mrs. Sarah Voight of Kaysville, who is currently teaching second grade at the new Columbia School in Kaysville. Kays-ville. The award was presented by Mrs. Ella Hoskins of Pi chapter for the combined chapters of Davis County. Delta De-lta Kappa Gamma Society is an honorary society to which outstanding educators belong. Mrs. Voight is a dedicated teacher and educator as well as the mother of three children, Heather, Vanessa and Sheldon. Shel-don. She is a native of Joliet, III., but has called Utah home since 1962. She has always been willing and eager to advance adv-ance herself and otherteachers in educational practices which bring a fuller education and a more satisfying life to students. SHE SPONSORED many workshops for ACEI as she served on committees and as president-elect and president. She has been a building representative repre-sentative to Davis Education Association and is a life member mem-ber of NEA. She is a charter member of Pi chapter, Alpha Theta, State, Delta Kappa Gamma. Served her chapter as corresponding secretary, historian, vice president, pres-ident, publicity chairman, and president. Presently she is serving as 2nd vice president on the state level. SHE RECEIVED her bachelors bache-lors degree from Weber State and her master's from the University Uni-versity of Utah. |
