Show gold and green ball at roosevelt very successful byh sahia ia horrocks cro crowned ned queen of 0 ball in colorful cere ceremony despite cold weather large crowd attends the annual MIA gold anc green ball was held in the roosevelt ward hall wednesday evening and despite the zero weather a large crowd of young people turned out to the dance that has become one of the major social events of the winter season the hall was elaborately dec orated with gold and green crepe paper streamers which formed a ceiling through which the lighting appeared indirect gold and green draperies were placed at each window and an artistic goldei golac I 1 stairway led to the throne on the stage sylvia horrocks of roosevlt daughter of mr and mrs walter horrocks of mt emmons was crowned queen of the celebration in a very beautiful ceremony tile the curtains of the stage opened revealing the throne and two tiny buglers buggers dressed in gold and green As their bugles sounded the procession led by the queen and followed by the maids in waiting in buding elaine litchfield lola ball gwendoyln bowen anna pulos verna jensen and rose jorgensen made its way from the back of the hall to the stage where the queen was crowned and seated on the throne little matheline atwood and barbara ellen sprouse were flower girls dance demonstrated the gold and green waltz for this year was demonstrated by merlyn reynolds helen devoe lambert marion wilkins howard reynolds blanche lublin donald lublin and geneva daniels those in charge of arran arrangements ge for the dance were the young mens and young ladies mutual officers including r mrs loren manwill mary peterson margaret price mr and mrs lyle reynolds virgil Mee charn mrs ferrell wilkins mrs cliford I 1 rutherford mrs edwin T I 1 vest blanche lublin and mrs B D 0 colton |
