Show relief enrollees warned to accept private employment A few complaints have come to j the attention of the utah works I 1 progress administration to the i effect that some relief clients are refusing to take temporary private employment such as work I 1 in beet fields tor for fear that while rhey ahey are so temporarily employed they will miss out on opportunities tuni ties to ibe be called to work on projects these clients are warned that they must not refuse to accept employment even though it is is of a temporary nature to refuse private employment is to run the risk of being cut oft off from the list of those persons eligible to work on federal aided pro elects the general policy with regard to refusal to accept private employment Is stated as follows all persons certified as eligible for employment on W P A projects are expected to accept jobs with private employers ahen work suitable to their training and experience is offered at wages generally paid and under conditions normally prevailing in the community unless to in the judgment of the local W P A such proffered employment Is unduly hazardous or otherwise objectionable in the event any such person refuses to accept suitable employment offered himi bim he may be dropped from the list of certified eligible persons utah relief officials find encouragement coura gement gemen in reports of increases in the number of temporary jobs in private employment and they are insisting that relief clients make every effort to take advantage of such opportunities tuni ties the social service divisions in the several county relief offices are instructed to call to the attention of relief clients op for employment land and if clients refuse to take jobs at wages generally paid and under conditions normally pre prevailing in he community they will be cut from the relief rolls |
