Show 4 t t t 4 farm bureau operations 4 44 4 4 4 for some bome peculiar reasor readous IS at let least very peculiar to me reports have been circulated that I 1 am opposed to the farm bureau this Is false and hwa has no foundation in tact fact in self pr or otherwise hence this Is written to clarify matters wherein I 1 ami am personally concerned for such matter I 1 thank the newspaper in advance it involves busi business nesa quite public and vital for all property owners taxpayers at least about three mouths ago a number of 0 men in the roosevelt section met to see 00 what might be done towards organizing a dairy association so that we might receive for butter tat fat a price more just cort cora pared will san fraucisco and new york prices atter after several attempts we finally at a membership meeting and under a temporary organization iza tion had two committees appointed vis via let three mera to va ao in reorganization of 0 the duchesne county farm bureau and 2nd and a committee attee of three to h have re articles of ita corporation drawn draw a up for cor the proposed dairy mens corporation po ration and a contract between such buell corporation and the dairymen it was wader understood stood that as won as possible the farmers or dairymen dairy min I 1 would be called together at a gen oral eral meeting tor consideration 01 of such articles and such contract such meeting wa was s called for ga t uday april 26 at 1030 a m bu but L the th local paper was late ita bi getting out and the rank and ille file did not get notice and no official meeting wa was 3 called to order during the time from commencing to formulate some plan to see e how many cows could be brought into one pooling contract two distinct ideas have developed viz let ae side elds wants want a for the dairy bir business siness stun sounding dIng on its own feet as it were and broar enough to include other similar a ag ri cultural activity if mec necessary essary and 2nd and another group wants to hav the matter handled entirely through and under tinder the farm bureau wf learned that uintah county tarui farl bureau had been re incorporated so as to better function in harmony with the federal farna farm board and so our last membership me ettig agreed to sponsor the rein incorporation re in corporation of the duchesne county bureau there hwa has never been a spirit of antagonism against the farm bureau manifested at any dairy meeting and the fact that vie the dairy meu agreed to sponsor the re lou iora of the Due duchesne besne county bureau should pio giove piove e that however I 1 have said and still believe that the dairy industry is so large and a nd so scattered and interests teresta conflicting im ii detail that it would be bear tor for the dairymen to incorporate as a separate corporation po and then when the farm bureau became poetically cally function ing we might let the bureau handle the whole job but until the bureau is a practical success I 1 prefer to follow the idaho plan and make a corporation large enough strong enough t to serve us as soon as possible in the dairy business naturally many interests disagree with such buell a plan but it has been apparent that all local dairymen would give preference to local creameries crea meries and try 10 lo to promote rather than injure ju e established business but it hurts me to have statements or reports or rumors passed along that chati I 1 am opposed to the farm bureau because I 1 am not opposed po 9 ed t to 0 it two y years ears service lu iri the duchene ducheane county bureau as see sec febary treasurer largely without pay should prove this or at least indicate that I 1 am willin willing to work tor for it although I 1 practically cally gave away the largest bunch of turkeys I 1 ever had on my farni farm letting the farm bureau have them getti getting tag about six cents a pound against nin shi iteen steen cents offered by arch A lar seri the da day y I 1 shipped and although many men were wee seriously injured injure dl by tho the seed pool several years ago i still I 1 believe in this plan I 1 will join the farm bureau lt if it is desired by my fellow fa farmers and it if it will help me it Is becom lug jig more practical irence hence I 1 have faith in it but this dairy bu business demands immediate action I 1 work in one county wad arid sleep in another two bure bureaus atra hw handling adling the roosevelt r section may be alright for daly dairymen but I 1 prefer for the present a corporation that may function in both counties my afy personal interest are in farming my aly employers are very to assist help foster or otherwise promote bureaus and better farming they are lot afraid of competition and chain stores and cooperative
