For filling put three cupfuls of confectioner's sugar In a bowl with h cupful of cream and beat until smooth. Add one table-spoonf-of lemon Juice and one table-spoonf-of finely minced pineapple. Spread the cake with melted butter, sprinkle with a tnblespoonful or two of chopped pineapple and cover with the filling. Use It for Icing the top. This will make a delicious dessert using whipped cream over the cake. It mny be baked In a sheet and cut In-to squares If preferred. Butterscotch Cake. Cream one-ha-lf cupful of butter with one cupful of " sugar, add two well beaten egg yolks, add two-thir- of a cupful of milk alternately with two cupfuls of flour sifted with three teaspoonfule of bak-ing powder, one-fourt- h teaspoonful of salt Beat well, add a flavoring of vanilla and fold In the stiffly beaten whites of the eggs. Bake in two layer tins. Ice the enke with the following: Two cupfuls of light sirup, one-hal- f cupful of butter, one-hn- lf cupful of milk. Bo' until it forms a soft hull In cold water. Cool without stirring. When almost cold spread on the cuke. Decorate the top with nut meats. Date Kisses. Beat two egg whites until stiff, add one cupful of powdered sugar, one cupful of broken nut meats and one cupful of chopped dates. Mix lightly and drop by tea.ipoonfuls on to a greased baking sheet. Put the nut meats and the wafers through a meat grinder and make alternate layers of crumbs with the pineapple and the creamed filling until all Is used. Place In ice box 12 hours be-fore using. Serve with whipped cream. , Orange Souffle. Cover one-hal- f box of gelatin with one-hal- f cupful of cold water; after ten minutes sdd one-hnl- f cupful of boiling water and stir until dissolved.
