Show EXHIBITS AT EL PASO A number of the bureaus and offices of the U S department of agriculture will make exhibits at the international so soil ii products Exposit exposition ibn at el paso texas october 14 to 24 illustrating some of its activities in the promotion of agriculture in the sections of the united states in addition seven west western and southwestern S sarte t t e E experiment stations will cooperate with the department in manking making exhibits illustrating the work w 0 ek of these federal feder il 1 and state agen agencies cles the states cooperating ope 1 are new Bl mexico exico arizona kansas utah california 1 nebraska and oklahoma th of animal industry y v 1 I 1 ill I exhibit specimens models P pictures 1 cures L arid and charts illustrating particularly its dairy and poultry I 1 work models showing ahe habits of prairie dogs and other rodents injurious to io crops and nd in methods I 1 of combating these pests pest wt s vim vill be furnished by the bureau of Di biological survey the forest service will show models of a farm plant for treating farce posts for their better preservation and windbreaks and pictures illustrating varl various phases of forest work with special reference to their bearing on oil dry land agriculture the I 1 exhibits of the bure bureau au of plant industry will relate chiefly to crops grown in the regions illustrating practical methods and results 0 of f dryland farming these exhibits will include material from the various great plains stations of the te office of dryland dry land agriculture investigations and material from the offices office of biophysical investigations alkali a ancy n 0 drought resistant plant investigations gat ions forge forage crop investigations cereal investigations mo logical investigations sugar 1 beet investigations crop acclimatization matiza tion investigations and other agencies of the bureau the office of public roads and rural engineering will exhibit 12 models showing the construction of roads adaptable to conditions in the regions and photographs illustrating the general work of the office the states relations service will have charge of the state experiment stations exhibits the weather bureaus exhibit will consist of maps apparatus pictures etc illustrating the work of the bureau especially in the regions congress appropriated to cover the expenses of the participation of Department the in the soil products exposition the work will be carried on under the immediate direction of the office of exhibits of the TJ S department of agriculture specialists familiar with the various phases of dryland dry land agriculture will be in charge of the specific exhibits to explain their significance |
