Mrs. Wendell Johnson, of Salt Lake City, has been visiting at : the home of her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Todd. She left for California to join her husband, hus-band, who recently returned from, the Hawaiian Islands. Leading off with a colorful parade, Roosevelt played host to, thousands of Basin visitors, and paid tribute to the Ute Indians in the fourth annual Indian In-dian Day celebration last week. Mrs. Hazel Frizzell and her son,- Edgar Frizzell, of Ocean-side, Ocean-side, California, were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Harmston Sunday afternoon in Uintah canyon, honoring their birthdays. Mr. and Mrsi Reed Lemon en- tertained at a family dinner at their home Sunday afternoon in rionor of Pfc and Mrs. Owen Timothy, who were recently married. Mrs. Florence Marimon and Mrs. Mable Chamberlin. of Whiterocks, were delegates at the B.P.W. convention in Salt Lake City-this week. They were accompanied by Miss Mary Talbot. Tal-bot. . ' Monday the Junior Social Culture club held its initiation at Bliss' Ellredge's cabin in Uintah Uin-tah canyon, with Elaine Tuttle. Mary-Larsen, Barta Jenkins and Ellen Rawlings as hostesses. Mr. and Mrs. Harmon Mullins celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary Monday, September 23. On Sunday they were honored hon-ored guests at a family dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Carlyle Reynolds, and Monday evening they held open house here for their grandchildren and friends." Coming as a pleasant surprise last week to Miss Marjorie Wis- combe, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Wiscombe, of Ballard, Bal-lard, was a scholarship to Brig-ham Brig-ham Young university for the coming year. A Sunday evening service and testimonial will be given in the Ioka ward hall for Ben Webb, son of Bishop and Mrs. John E. Webb, who will fulfill a mission for the LDS church. Mr. and Mrs. J. V. McLea left Monday morning for a two weeks' vacation trip to California. Cali-fornia. They will spend several days visiting in Oakland and San Francisco, and will also visit the World's Fair on Treasure Treas-ure Island.
