Show 2.42 Mills Raises Taxes $13,406.06 In Duchesne Co. Duchesne county taxpayers have been assessed with $13,-406.06 $13,-406.06 more tax dollars in 1950 than for last year, as shown by reports prepared by the countv clerk's office. This year $301,-116.15 $301,-116.15 has been charged to the county treasurer for collection, compared with $287,710.09 in 1949, Special taxes on livestock and assessments on rolling stock of automobile passenger and freight lines are not included in this sum. This increase in taxes is due to a 2.42 mill levy raise set by the board of county commissioners commission-ers to take care of a 3 mill increase in-crease requested by the Duchesne Du-chesne county school district. General levy for 1949 was 38.78 mills compared with 41.20 for 1950. County general levy for this year is 9 mills. Total school levy amounts to 32.20 mills. Total To-tal assessed valuation figures have decreased $86,935, er from $6,582,527 in 1949 to $6,495,-592 $6,495,-592 this year. City levies are in addition to the general levy, as follows: Duchesne, 25 mills; Myton, My-ton, 23 mills; Roosevelt, 27 mills; Tabiona, 8 mills. These levies are the same for 1950 as for last year, except a 2 mill increase set by Roosevelt City for an airport fund, Valuation and taxes levied for the various taxing units are shown in the following list. Comparison figures for 1949 are listed in brackets. Myton valued val-ued at $82,495 ($95,670) with taxes levied at $5,938.18 ($5,-910.49); ($5,-910.49); Roosevelt valued at $892,595 ($908,200) with taxes levied at $60,874.98 ($57,924.59); Tabiona valued at $40,497 ($36,527) with taxes levied at $1,992.45 ($1,708.73); Duchesne valued at $331,125 ($336,556) with taxes levied at $21,920.47 ($21,465.54); county and small towns valued at $5,106,555 ($5,175,357) with taxes leyied at $210,390.07 ($200,700.34). Assessed As-sessed valuation is based upon 40 per cent of the actual cash value. In addition to these taxes, owners of livestock will pay special taxes for state bounty, predatory animal control, inspection, in-spection, and tuberculosis and Bangs disease contro funds amounting tp $6,752.71, |
