Show Uintah Defeats Riders In Baseball Opener; llext Game Hero Wednesday Scoring eight runs in the first inning, Uintah defeated the Roosevelt Rough Riders, 10-4, Wednesday afternoon at Vernal to take the first of a two-game series to decide the eastern division di-vision baseball winner. Next Wednesday, RHS attempts to even the count and force a play-off by derailing the Ute express in a game scheduled for 2:30 p. m. at the high school. The winner of the two divisions divi-sions will play for the district championship April 21 in Roosevelt Roos-evelt during Activities Days. Alterra, expected to participate in the eastern division, has dropped out of baseball to devote de-vote its time to track. Lack of sufficient material and time for practice was given as reasons rea-sons for the Alterra decision. Coach Clint Nelson said the Riders did well in the Uintah game, after the first inning, when they were troubled by a case of jitters.
