Show Basin Ranger Membership Continues 1 To Grow; Montwel Rodeo Next Show The Basin Rangers will soon indeed be Basin-wide, if membership mem-bership keeps growing as it has since its recent organization. I Originally 30, the Ranger I membership list has now soared past 80, including several women wom-en members. Prospective members mem-bers are asked to attend their next regularly scheduled meeting, meet-ing, Aug. 25 at Bastian's cafe, Neola. The Rangers' first public appearance ap-pearance was Aug. 10-1 1 during Roosevelt's U.B.I.C. days, when they paraded in force along Main street. Their next appearance appear-ance will be Sept. 4 at the Montwel Labor Day rodeo, at which time they will present a mounted drill. Organized for the purpose of raising funds to light and improve im-prove the Neola rodeo grounds, the Rangers are now discussing discus-sing plans for the formulation of a Junior Basin Rangers club, with membership open to all interested persons 16 years of age and younger. The Rangers are an active social organization as well as a riding club. Their first party a weiner roast and watermelon bust at Jolleys Corner was staged Aug. 20, less than a month after the club started. As part of the festivities the Rangers' adopted as their official of-ficial song, a composition by Mrs Bernard Oberhansley, which she sang that night, with Miss Gerrie Griffin, of White-rocks White-rocks playing the accordian accompaniment. |
