Show Ellen Bracken John M. HejT, a former Al-terra Al-terra resident, died recently in a Salt Lake hospital. Funeral services and burial were at San Diego, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Angus Ander-sn Ander-sn have returned after enjoying enjoy-ing an extended visit with relatives rela-tives in Carbon and Emery counties. Jesse Hullinger has been transferred from the Ballard school to assume the duties of principal at Ft. Duchesne school. Mr. and Mrs. George Thatcher and family spent the week-end with relatives at Orem. Cloyd Wiscombe, Lynn Bracken, Brack-en, Clifton Jenkins and Kenneth Ken-neth Betts were among the Al- terra basketball players who played with the Rangely team Tuesday evening, Dec. 5, at Rangely. Mr. and Mrs. Elton Kettle made a trip to Salt Lake City last week to take their son, Dennis, to stay at the County hospital for sometime for medical med-ical treatment. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Brighton Brigh-ton took Charles Bingham as far as Park City Dec. 5. Mr. Bingh-ham's Bingh-ham's son, Melvin, took him on to Salt Lake City Wednesday. Keith Todd made a trip to Salt Lake City to participate in the temple excursion last week. He also made a hurried trip to Logan before returning home Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Max Hunting, of Vernal, are living on the Ermin farm. Mrs. Hunting is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hacking, of Roosevelt. Sunday school faculty meet- was held at the home of Mrs. Ernest Betts Wednesday evening, eve-ning, Dec. 6. The Christmas pro- gram was discussed and refreshments re-freshments were served by Mrs. Betts. Several from the Ballard ward attended the funeral services ser-vices for Perry Bowen, of Ben- i nett, held at Roosevelt Dec. 4. Grant Clark is working at the Snow machine shop and Ensign Clark at the Penney Co. store after school and on Saturdays. . Grant and Ensign are sons of Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Clark. Gerhard and Enoch Stolla and Mrs. Glen Molyneux,. of Salt Lake City, and Mrs. Eric Stolla and their two children, of Clearfield, Clear-field, were recent visitors at the home of Mrs. Erna Stolla. The Ballard scouts, under the direction of Arvin Bellon and Spencer Squire, held a banquet at the Ballard school kitchen, Saturday evening. The fathers of the boys were special guests. A program was given during the evening. Mrs. Julia Kettle was in charge of the banquet Mr. and Mrs. John Birchell made a trip to Oakland, Calif, recently with their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Andrews, of Roosevelt. Several from the ward attended at-tended the wedding reception of Mr. and Mrs., Stanley Nebek-er, Nebek-er, of Ft. Duchesne in the Roosevelt Roos-evelt stake hall Wednesday evening, eve-ning, Dec. 6. Members of the M.I. A. were instructed in square dancing Monday evening. The Relief Society annual Christmas party will be held Tuesday, Dec. 18. Each member and all others who wish to do so, are asked to contribute a gift for a child. Then boxes will be made up to contribute to the ward. Mrs. Charles Bingham was called to the Roosevelt hospital during the week to be with her brother, Leonard Harris, of My-ton. My-ton. Lynn Bracken, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Bracken, spent the week-end in Salt Lake City. Mrs. E. C. Coston attended the wedding reception of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Chandler, at Avalon, Saturday evening. The baby son of Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Anderson was reported on the sick list this week. |
